Singapore’s GST Voucher (GSTV) scheme provides financial support to eligible citizens to help them manage the cost of daily living. In 2026, eligible Singaporeans can receive up to S$850 in GSTV–Cash, while qualifying seniors can receive up to S$450 in GSTV–MediSave top-ups.
The amount a person receives depends on factors such as assessable income, age, the annual value of their home and property ownership. The two benefits also serve different purposes: GSTV–Cash is paid as money, while GSTV–MediSave is credited to an eligible senior’s CPF MediSave Account.
The Ministry of Finance announced that the 2026 payments would begin in August. Here is what Singaporeans need to know about the payment amounts, eligibility requirements and how to check their benefits.
What Is the Singapore GST Voucher Scheme?
The GST Voucher scheme is a permanent government support programme introduced to help lower- and middle-income Singaporeans manage the impact of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Rather than providing the same amount to everyone, the scheme considers individual circumstances to determine eligibility and payment amounts.
The main GST Voucher components include:
- GSTV–Cash: A cash payment for eligible adult Singapore citizens.
- GSTV–MediSave: A CPF MediSave top-up for eligible senior citizens.
- GSTV–U-Save: Rebates that help eligible HDB households offset their utility bills.
- GSTV–Service and Conservancy Charges (S&CC) Rebate: Assistance with eligible HDB households’ service and conservancy charges.
These benefits have different eligibility rules. Receiving one component does not automatically mean a person qualifies for every other component.
Singapore GST Voucher 2026: How Much Can You Receive?
The 2026 GSTV–Cash payment is based on the recipient’s assessable income for the Year of Assessment 2025 and the annual value of their place of residence as at 31 December 2025.
Eligible recipients must also meet the citizenship, age and property ownership conditions.
GSTV–Cash payment amounts
| Annual value of home | Maximum annual assessable income | 2026 cash payment |
|---|---|---|
| Up to S$21,000 | S$39,000 | S$850 |
| More than S$21,000 and up to S$31,000 | S$39,000 | S$450 |
These amounts apply to eligible Singapore citizens aged 21 and above in 2026 who own no more than one property. People with assessable income above S$39,000 or who own more than one property do not qualify for this GSTV–Cash payment.
The annual value of a home is a property valuation used by the Government for benefit eligibility. It is not the property’s purchase price or the amount of rent the owner pays.
GSTV–MediSave 2026: How Much Can Seniors Receive?
GSTV–MediSave provides support to eligible senior citizens by adding money directly to their CPF MediSave Accounts. The amount depends on the recipient’s age and the annual value of their home.
| Age in 2026 | Home annual value up to S$21,000 | Home annual value above S$21,000 up to S$31,000 |
|---|---|---|
| 65–74 years | S$250 | S$150 |
| 75–84 years | S$350 | S$250 |
| 85 years and above | S$450 | S$350 |
To qualify, recipients must meet the applicable citizenship and property ownership conditions, including owning no more than one property. The home’s annual value must not exceed S$31,000.
Unlike GSTV–Cash, GSTV–MediSave is not money paid into a regular bank account. It is credited to the eligible person’s CPF MediSave Account and is intended to help with eligible healthcare expenses under CPF rules.
Who Is Eligible for GST Voucher 2026?
The eligibility conditions differ slightly between GSTV–Cash and GSTV–MediSave.
For GSTV–Cash, you generally need to:
- Be a Singapore citizen residing in Singapore.
- Be aged 21 or above in 2026.
- Have assessable income of no more than S$39,000 for the Year of Assessment 2025.
- Have a home with an annual value of no more than S$31,000 as at 31 December 2025.
- Own no more than one property.
For GSTV–MediSave, you generally need to be an eligible Singapore citizen aged 65 or above in 2026, have a home annual value of no more than S$31,000 and own no more than one property.
The GSTV–Cash scheme uses assessable income assessed by IRAS for the relevant year. It is not simply a test of current monthly salary. If you are unsure about your eligibility, check your individual record through the official government portal.
When Was GST Voucher 2026 Paid?
The 2026 GSTV payments were scheduled for August 2026. The Ministry of Finance announced that eligible recipients who had signed up previously would start receiving their benefits from 7 August.
For GSTV–Cash, the announced payment schedule was:
| Payment method | Scheduled payment date |
|---|---|
| PayNow-NRIC | By 7 August 2026 |
| GIRO | By 18 August 2026 |
| GovCash | By 25 August 2026 |
Eligible GSTV–MediSave recipients were scheduled to receive their top-ups by 11 August 2026.
These are the announced 2026 payment dates, which have already passed. If you have not received a payment, check your eligibility and payment status rather than assuming that the benefit has been rejected. The timing can depend on the payment method and whether your registration was completed.
How to Check GST Voucher Payment Status
Singapore citizens can check their GST Voucher eligibility and payment information through the official GovBenefits portal.
- Visit the GST Voucher information and eligibility portal.
- Sign in using Singpass.
- Open the GST Voucher section.
- Review your eligibility, payment details and any information about your disbursement.
People who previously registered for GST Voucher payments generally do not need to sign up again. If you have never signed up, check the portal for the current registration process and payment timeline. Applications made after the deadline for the August 2026 payment may be processed on a later schedule.
Make sure your registered bank details are correct if you expect a cash payment. Eligible recipients can receive government cash benefits through the available payment methods, including PayNow-NRIC, GIRO or GovCash, depending on their arrangements.
What If You Have Not Received Your GST Voucher?
If the expected payment has not arrived, there are several things to check.
First, confirm that you meet the income, age, annual value and property ownership requirements for the relevant component. Next, check your GovBenefits account to see whether your payment details or status have been updated.
Also check which payment method is registered to your account. PayNow-NRIC recipients may receive payments earlier than people using other methods.
Be careful of scam messages claiming that you must pay a fee to release your GST Voucher. The Government will not ask you to transfer money or reveal your bank login details over a phone call. Official government benefit notifications will not ask you to reply with personal information or click links in an SMS to claim a payment.
Final Words
Singapore’s GST Voucher scheme continues to provide support for eligible citizens in 2026. Qualifying adults can receive up to S$850 through GSTV–Cash, while eligible seniors can receive up to S$450 through GSTV–MediSave.
However, the maximum amount is not available to everyone. Eligibility depends on the scheme’s rules, including assessable income, age, home annual value and property ownership. Since the main 2026 payments were scheduled for August, anyone who has not received a benefit should check their status through the official GovBenefits portal.
